“Analysis of genomic and mitochondrial DNA of extinct and endangered species”

Warsztaty “Analiza genomowego i mitochondrialnego DNA gatunków wymarłych i wymierających” (Analysis of genomic and mitochondrial DNA of extinct and endangered species) przeprowadzono w formie wyodrębnionej części konferencji pod nazwą Ongoing Projects jako wydarzenie satelitarne towarzyszące konferencji „First International Conference on the Restoration of Endangered and Extinct Animals” (www.biodiversity.pl). Fundacja na swoją działalność uzyskała dofinasowanie z Ministerstwa Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego na podstawie decyzji nr 719/DWB/P/2010 w wysokości 5000 zł. Elementy poświęcone pracy z materiałem genetycznym zostały przedstawione przez badaczy zajmujących się aDNA w trakcie Konferencji. Kruszewicz (Warsaw, Poland) Zoological gardens – role in species protection; 4) Andrzej Krzywiński (Kadzidłowo, Poland) The development of new method of reintroduction “born to be free” and its use for protection of endangered species on the example of grouses and lynx; 5) Beata Prusak (Jastrzębiec, Poland) Polish population of Emys orbicularis – genetic variability and implications for the species protection; 6) Julia Dvorska (Sumy, Ukraine) New tool to increase reproduction in cows; 7) Wioletta Sawicka-Zugaj (Lublin, Poland) Whitebacked – Polish native cattle breed; 8) Krzysztof Andres (Cracow, Poland) Restoration of Polish native crested chickens – preliminary attempts; 9) Małgorzata Gumułka (Cracow, Poland) Preliminary studies on semen quality of zatorska ganders from preserved genetic resources of Poland; 10) Jan Śmiełowski (Poznań, Poland) Management of populations of threatened animal species – can breeding activities save endangered species from extinction.
